The St Johns Islanders fought tooth and nail and knocked off the Bobcats from Baptist Hill Friday night 57-49. St Johns overcame a team shooting percentage of 22% to collect a season series sweep of the Bobcats to reverse a trend. The win improves St Johns at 6-2 in the region and gives them the tiebreaker over Baptist Hill in the region. Tyrus Richardson led the scoring with 27 of the Islanders 57 points on 6 of 30 shooting. The Islanders took advantage and cashed in on the free throw line by sinking 25 out of 36 attempts for 69%. Tyrus made 13 of 16 from the charity stripe for almost half of his points on the night. Levon Traeye led the team with 11 rebounds and 7 of them were on the offensive side. Jamal Williams also had a big day on the glass snaring 10 rebounds. Devaun Hamilton and Tyrus Richardson both had 5 steals to lead. Devaun Hamilton also led with 5 assists.
