St Johns and Chas Math and Science both came into the Tuesday night game undefeated in region play at 4-0 but only one stayed unbeaten. The Riptide used a suffocating defense and a boisterous home crowd to nip the Islanders in overtime 55-51. In a game that was tight throughout, Wendell Seabrook led the Riptide with 19 of their 55 points. Devin Roby led the Islanders with 18 points and Tyrus Richardson added 16 as teh guards accounted for 34 of St Johns 51 points on the night. As a team the Islanders only shot 25% from the floor and converted 20 of 41 free throws for 49%. Tyler Durham led the team with 10 rebounds while Devaun Hamilton led with 3 assists. Jordan Brown led in steals with 4. With the win, the Riptide take over first place in the region at 4-0 and are tied with Lowcountry Leadership. The Islanders fall to 4-1 in the region a half game back and in third place.

The Islanders will not have time to dwell on this loss as the Navigators from Lowcountry Leadership are next at St Johns this Friday. Just like that, the Islanders get the opportunity to face another tough region team at home.
