Tyrus Richardson led the Islanders with 131 yards and the Islanders rolled over the Riptide 52-0 to improve to 6-2 overall and 2-0 in the region. The Riptide fall to 0-8 and 0-2 in the region.

Next week, The Islanders will play Baptist Hill who is also 2-0 in the region after their 74-12 victory over Military Magnet dropping them to 0-8 and 0-2 in the region. Baptist Hill is 5-2 and have won 5 in a row since changing Quarterbacks. The winner of the game will be the region 4 champion and will receive a first round bye in the playoffs, as well as will be at home as long as they win and advance in the playoffs. The loser will be the #2 seed from region 4 and will host an at large team in the first round. The #2 finisher will then play the rest of their playoff games on the road if they advance out of round 1. SO this makes this a huge game, not only because of it being a rivalry game but also the playoff implications.

The other region game will decide a playoff berth when Military Magnet travels to Charleston Math and Science. The winner of this game will also host a first round playoff game and the loser will likely be left out of the playoffs, setting up a de facto playoff game. The Eagles are 0-8 and will be looking for their first win of the year at Math and Science. The Riptide are 0-8 also and will be playing at home for a chance to host again in two weeks.
